Policy for Sourcing Conflict Minerals
1. Not procured conflict minerals from mines in Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
2. Request suppliers to notify their supply chains to follow conflict minerals free requirement and to submit commitment declaration of non-use for the conflict minerals.
To protect the human rights, health, and environmental resources of workers in material production areas, KYEC commit that the products delivered to customers and the manufacturing processes, using materials including but not limited to Tantalum (Ta), Tin (Sn), Tungsten (W), Gold (Au), Cobalt (Co), and Mica, are sourced in accordance with the OECD Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (OECD Due Diligence Guidance) or equivalent and recognized due diligence frameworks. We also ensure that our raw material suppliers do not directly or indirectly finance or support criminal armed groups that have committed serious human rights violations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (the “DRC”) and its adjacent regions.
We expect our suppliers to source conflict-free minerals from smelters or refiners that have been certified by an independent third-party audit programs. At the same time, we support the continued use of conflict-free minerals from the DRC and its adjacent regions in order to avoid negative impacts or diminish of responsible mining operations locally.
This issue will also be communicated to all suppliers for compliance.
